Last Saturday our Newcastle team gathered to celebrate a milestone for performHR… the launch of our new premises in Newcastle! Supported by all of our friends and family, our team enjoyed a great afternoon filled with fun, laughter, a lot of food and even more wine!
Over the past four weeks, the team at performHR Newcastle have worked tirelessly to get the offices ready for staff and clients. From boyfriends, husbands, fathers and friends everyone was on hand to help pitch in, even the kids! The result is amazing and the offices are exactly what we envisaged! From our blackboard brainstorming feature wall, to our client conference room and even our chill out room in the front-of-house, the office was designed and produced by our staff to tailor to their work environment needs. We even have a lovely entertaining area with a day bed that I’m sure will be fought over in the near future!

Have you heard of this new field they call ‘NeuroLeadership’? I only recently came across the term and I was instantly intrigued. If you haven’t heard the term it’s basically an emerging field of study that applies the findings of neuroscience to areas of leadership like development, management training and change management. The idea is that if you have an understanding of how the brain works, you can enhance your leadership skills like thinking, facilitating and influencing.
So, why is it such a hit with the professionals?

Well, I suppose its things like maintaining relationships, decision making and remaining calm under pressure. But can this research really transform the way we operate in the workplace? I
